The opposite of faith is not doubt.. it is certainty. I heard this on a podcast by Dr. OZ

Goodbye to a Good Thing

It is sad to say, but Liliaan Darin and Kaya left this morning for Maui . I am sad to have to say good by to my cute little Kaya. The only thing I am happy about is that at least by the end of the week Sophia Derek and the kids will be up on the weekend and I will be able to spend time with them.

This summer has been one of the best summer's I have had for a long time. I have been able to spend lots of time with family and doing some fun things. Not having to work was good too.

We are looking forward to Laura's Wedding in San Diego which will be coming up soon too in August.

Happy Mother's Day

A Thank you to the kids I raised. I really enjoyed being a mother, and reliving my childhood through you. I loved watching you go to sleep while in my arms, watching you get up early to watch cartoons and be totally excited when I brought lots of grocerys home with fun cereals to eat. Watching you play with your friends and new toys at Christmas, dressing up, and watching you laugh till you busted a gut. I loved all the things you would say that would make me laugh, like " Dad it's all your fault, you farted and now mom has asthma." or "Your not the boss of me" or "Be qiet mom, be qiet", "Me know Dat" or "HEEEEEE" . I felt bad when my thoughtlessness made you cry or hurt your feelings. I always wished I was kinder or more patient. You taught me so much and I would never have learned to love so deeply if I wouldn't have had you in my life!I love you all with all my heart.

Love, Mom

Mom went to the Dr.

I took Mom to a Wellness clinic that was recommended to me by Kris Vel. Her dad went there and had amazing results. I thought it might be a good idea to have them check her out . She has been walking pretty crooked and bent over since her hip operation and is only taking prescription medicines and no vitamins or any nutritional products. The results of that visit has given me some good information to help her in the future. She has some scoliosis and her hips are not even because of the new hip she received. We have a plan to put a lift in one of her shoes to even out her hips. Her neck and lower back need help because her bones could fuse together if left without treatment. She had a test ajustment yesterday and adjusted well. She is already walking better and standing straighter. We will be going to a patient class so we can be informed on how to support her therapy.

Grandma spends some of her time reading and has been enjoying having the dogs so devoted to her.

Adriaan Comes Home again May 6, 2008

Bubba Boy is coming Home!

Hey Baby boy! We are so happy to have you back. For those of you that didn't know. Adriaan had an accident at work after being here in Utah. A Scaffolding fell apart that he was on and he broke his ankle when he fell. Adriaan has been writing songs and while he was here in February he was able to work with his dad and uncle Pete to put one of his songs on CD. He and his dad will continue to work on more music together.

1 grandma left

Grandma Brown came to stay with us last week and went with Richard to Idaho this weekend for Kevin's graduation from BYU Idaho. She will be back later today. She will be staying with us till June. Her next stop will be to Marina's house in Las Cruces. With the loss of my in-laws it has been nice to have her here to cheer us up.

Things that make me happy!

Spending time with my two little cupcakes Is tops for me. When we were at Oma's house after the family and friends gathering, Regina fell over and she can't talk so she made up something. When Sophia picked her up, she said Mama ! Yaya! bluratkspoupgap! Couldn't quite catch it all but it was funny. Liliaan emailed me and told me: "Kaya is so cute she has been starting to fake talk and try to mimick the words we say to her and if she doesn't want something she shakes her head no. That little Kaya has a very high pitched sound she makes, kind of like an eagle high in the sky. I guess it means she needs something or she really likes the sound of it. We love everything about them.

Saying Goodbye to Oma

Oma left us on February 15th, 2007 on Adriaan's Birthday. She spent Valentines day with Roelof at her house. Roelof said she had a wonderful day and had a good lunch with him. Since she had a procedure done earlier in the week for pain, she was feeling better than she had in a long time. She was interested in looking at something in her book of rememberance where she kept family history records. When she went to get it from a lower shelf, she lost her balance and fell on her hip. Roelof had gone downstairs to get something for her and heard the fall. This fall broke her hip and when she went to the hospital, the Doctors said she needed hip surgery. She mentioned to Kris Vel (Peter Bart's wife) she didn't think she would be waking up from the surgery. The surgery went well, but early in the morning she had some complications which could have been either heart or stroke related. She passed away quickly and peacefully and went to be with her husband and children on the other side. We will all miss her and hope to see her again. She was deeply loved by her family. We have been looking at all the photos of her and I keep thinking about her every day. It is hard to loose someone so dear and realize they are no longer a part of our existance as we know it. Her brother Jan Kouprie sent us this photo.
